INFINITY WAR PREDICTIONS (NO SPOILERS)

This post is PREDICTIONS only. This post DOES NOT contain spoilers for Infinity War. This post DOES contain spoilers for MCU movies.

I have not yet seen Infinity War. It is the morning of 26-April-2018 as I write this. I am watching the movie at 7PM and 1030PM tonight. I got ready for this by watching the 24 hour fanedit available on my other blog post!

I think the Soul Stone is contained within Yggdrasil (this is abstract with concrete aspects). (Other fun predictions near the bottom.)

Prediction:

1. The Soul Stone is in a physical location. I think this is a location we don’t know about yet. (See more about location below.)

2. The ingot has not been fully forged yet. (Or it was forged, but has dissipated in size over time.) It is the largest stone and may need more work.

3. It won’t be found at the end of this movie. But the rest of what is needed will be collected.

4. “Half the heores” will have to die to reforge it. I think Thanos wants to kill and absorb the essence of millions of souls.

5. People who contain the most essence are Heimdall, Thor, and Loki. Heimdall because of this abilities and Thor because he says he “has more life than most” (this applies to Loki too). Another is Peter Quill. His light is “gone” but I doubt that very much.

Location:

If I was pressured to pick a location, it would be Wakanda. I am apprehensive of Wakanda because it seems obvious, its represented by purple, and they already have Vibranium. I think more likely is that Thanos needs Vibranium. We already saw what Ultron did with it and I think he saw this too. I think “God” wants to “wind up and throw a stone”, AKA the Vibranium meteor at the Earth again, as well as use its magnetic properties to bind the stones to his gauntlet.

Yggdrasil is the most underused concept in the MCU and it would connect all of what has happened.

We have seen Yggdrasil physically represented:

• on doorways in a church in Captain America

• on a doorway in Asgard in Ragnarok

• in the Hall of Science on Asgard in Thor 2

• in a vision as a cosmic tree in Thor 2

• on Selvig’s chalkboard in Thor 2

• as a cosmic tree in Thor’s vision from Age of Ultron

• as a drawing in Thor’s book in Thor 1

I also think this is represented by:

• Groot as a tree (I understand this is different than his species in the comics.)

• Heimdall’s eyes seeing millions of souls

• People dying and turning into orange essence (space dust)

• Vibranium meteor which struck Earth

• Reflecting pools (each realm has one, implying connection)

• Cosmic jump points (“other ways” out of Asgard, Sakaar portals, “Jump points” from Guardians 2)

There is evidence that Earth might be near or at the center of Yggdrasil:

• Malekith came to Earth to activate the convergence

• Terrans were the only beings who could breed with Ego

• 4 of the 5 known stones have had contact with Earth in 10 years (Space, Mind, Time, Reality)

• This could possibly be 5 of 6 if the Soul Stone is ON Earth, but I have reservations about that.

• Visions quote about the commensurate rate of opposition rising.

Other fun predictions:

• We will get an identical Avengers circle from the first one.

• Coulson will use the same gun from Avengers to kill one of Thanos’ minions.

• Doctor Strange will sacrifice himself to make an irreparable time reversal to save some of the heroes.

• Rocket will learn who made him.

• Someone will get crippled and will become an “oracle” character, possibly even absorbing into an AI system. (Was thinking Tony, but probably Rhodey, Pepper, or Ned.)

• Aunt May will die and Tony will have to take Peter in. (This would impact Tony as he lost his parents and has come to care for Peter.)

• Drax will wield Mejingjord (Thor’s belt) and defeat one of Thanos’ minions.

• Hulk will throw “Cap’s prototype shield” and kill someone. In Ragnorak, Thor said not to throw shields.

• Thanos first learned about Earth’s power through Stane’s death in Iron Man 1. (He knew about it as a planet, but didn’t care yet.) Once again, this makes everything happening Tony’s fault in his eyes.

• Red Skull is alive and has been helping Thanos from space. He may be revealed to be The Mandarin. (Seems odd that Zola functioned on his own for so many years without a leader. He was squirrely and subordinate.)

• Banner will either decide to become Hulk forever or Thanos will extract Hulk from him and he will only be Banner.

• Vision will fully understand the stone is his head so he can “one day maybe control it”.

• Abomination will be released and come back. The Leader has been helping villains as well.

• The little kid from Iron Man 3 will be in peril, but not die. He will eventually take over for Tony.

• Adam Warlock is in both the cocoon in Collector’s vault and the Sovereign’s chamber. His two halves will be combined.

• Scarlett Witch has similar powers to Aether and will be able to manipulate the stone.

• The next movie will be Infinity Gauntlet and will involve a race to forge the Soul Stone.

• Nova Corps will die and someone we already know will become Nova. (Peter Quill has the ability to contain cosmic forces and could absorb this power.)

• Doctor Strange will be asked to use the Time Stone to do something morally apprehensible (bring someone to life, create a time rift, age someone, etc.).

• Mantis will exhaust herself in sacrifice to change someone’s mood. Maybe to save Doctor Strange.

• Nebula will thank Thanos for enhancing her so she could fight back.

• Wong will “sling ring” Falcon through portals during a fight.

• My final prediction is that none of these will happen. Marvel Studios and the Russo brothers have so much creativity and it has been amazing. I am excited to go on the ride.

I could think of so many more, but they are getting into the range of “I want to see” instead of “I think will happen”.

Crazy Predictions:

• People have been Skrulls. Black Widow is a perfect candidate, but I am unsure of others. (Thanks to my friend for this theory.)
